There are now 18 teams in French Ligue 1 after it reduced from 20 teams at the end of the 2022-23 season. The league has recently been dominated by Paris Saint-Germain who have won 8 championships in the last decade. In the 2024-25 season, they won their th championship, solidifying them as the most succesful French Football team in History.
